Cookies and localStorage are different
Cookies are small values a browser may send with requests to a website. LocalStorage holds values on your device for a particular site and is not automatically attached to page requests. The publication’s JavaScript does not set cookies. The controls below use localStorage only when you select an option.
What the publication stores
- Key
spritzwondergadgt-preference- Purpose
- Remember the browser-storage preference you select on this page.
- Values
acceptedoressential. No name, email or enquiry text is included.- Duration
- Until you clear it, clear this site’s browser data or the browser removes it. It has no programmed expiry.
- Access
- The value is read locally by this publication’s preference controls. The supplied script does not transmit it.
Your browser preference
No optional tracking is installed. Accepting does not activate analytics, advertising or any additional storage. A future optional service would need its own information and consent where required.
JavaScript is needed to read or change the local preference. You can always clear site data in your browser settings.
Enquiry text, clipboard and downloads
The contact tool holds a draft in the current page’s memory. It does not save enquiry text in cookies or localStorage. Selecting COPY ENQUIRY writes to your device’s clipboard, subject to browser permission. Selecting DOWNLOAD ENQUIRY creates a plain-text file on your device. You manage the retention of those copies.
Your browser controls
You can block storage or clear site data through your browser’s privacy settings. Blocking localStorage does not prevent reading the articles or preparing an enquiry; the preference controls will report that they could not save a choice. Preferences apply to the current browser and site origin, not automatically to other devices or browsers.
